Knowledge About Deep Drawn Stamping
There's two stages of a draw are cupping and drawing.
When the punch contacts the blank, the front end of the punch first imprints the material into the mold. At this point, some stretching will occur, and the so-called "impact line" will be produced. This is a noticeable thinning area that thins around the radius of the bottom until it just enters the straight wall of the housing.
Depending on the shape of the bottom, the thickness of the material on the bottom surface may still be close to the original thickness (flat bottom), or it may be thinned by stretching (spherical bottom). When the blank is drawn into the mold, the surrounding material gathers and the wall gradually thickens.
When the blank is pulled closer to the shell diameter, the thickness of the material will increase by as much as 10% from the original thickness. A gap must be left for this thickening to occur so that the material will not be trapped between the punch and the die.

. Strong parts - rolled metal has a slender and cohesive grain structure. Due to the nature of the deep drawing process, the structure flows uninterrupted in the deep-drawn part, resulting in a very strong finished product.
